Rick is a sophomore at MIT studying Computation and Cognition, a combination of his interests in both cognitive science and computer science. Rick has an interest in medical devices, as well as software engineering and AI, and the Conformable Decoders team covers many of these interests.

A diverse education has always been important to Rick, who makes an effort to explore as many subjects as he can, which often has many benefits where knowledge in several topics is necessary. In high school, he took a breadth of classes, and hopes to keep the scope of his education both broad and deep at MIT.

At MIT, Rick has also held research positions in the Brain and Cognitive Sciences, where he worked on statistical analysis of neuronal data from macaque monkeys. Rick is also part of MIT’s Lightweight Men’s Rowing team.
