Emma is an undergraduate researcher studying Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Materials Science as she is interested in exploring design and structures at both a macro and micro scale. She likes the interdisciplinary research of Conformable Decoders that encompasses the worlds of wearable biomedical devices, materials science, mechanical design, and sustainable energy.

During her time at MIT, Emma researched long-term ingestible biomedical devices at the Koch Institute where she investigated new ways of accomplishing mechanism miniaturization and materials for biocompatible robots. She is also a member of MIT’s Rocket Team, on both the Composites and Structures teams. In high school, she did research exploring human kinematics for robotic application at the UCLA Biomechatronics Lab and discovered her passion for engineering through participation in FTC.

Emma is excited to be a part of the Conformable Decoders team to further explore her interests in MechE and MatSci, develop her skill set, and contribute to a bigger impact of changing the way people interface with energy systems with wearable energy harvesters.
